Business Insider Takes $3M Towards World Domination
New York-based Business Insider, the business news and opinion site run by former Wall Street analyst Henry Blodget, said Wednesday that it has raised $3M in funding. The firm said the round came from RRE Ventures and its other existing investors. Business Insider said it has previously raised $2.7M in funding. The site has previously joked about "world domination" by combining the firm with Michael Arrington's TechCrunch. The Business Insider said it would use some of the funding for expansion of its newsroom, original reporting, as well as launch of a professional research service.
