Mountain View-based
HipChat, which operates a private, instant messaging service aimed at the corporate set, said today that it has raised $100,000 in angel investment. The funding came from the Founders Fund TechFellow inaugural 2009 award program. HipChat was founded by Pete Curley, Chris Rivers, and Garret Heaton. The firm said the funding will allow it to further spread the word about the company. Curley, Rivers, and Heaton were the developer of HipCal, which was acquired by Plaxo, and eventually worked on Plaxo Pulse.
