OpenCoin Snags Angel Funding For Bitcoin
San Francisco-based OpenCoin said today that it has raised angel funding for its development of the Ripple protocol, the open source payment system behind Bitcoin. Size of the funding was not disclosed. The funding came from Andreessen Horowitz, FF Angel IV, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Vast Ventures, and Bitcoin Opportunity Fund. OpenCoin is headed by Chris Larsen.
