Marvell Acquires Spanish Firm
Santa Clara-based Marvell said Thursday that it has acquired Spanish firm Diseno de Sistemas en Silicio S.A. (DS2). DS2 is a developer of high speed semiconductors for the powerline communications market. Financial terms of the buy were not announced. Marvell said approximately 75 of DS2's employees will join its development team as part of the acquisition. DS2's products are used for consumer powerline communications products. DS2 was founded in 1998.
