Cafebots, a stealth mode firm headed by Yoav Shoham, a Professor of Computer Science at Stanford University, has scored $2.0M, part of a $5.0M fundraising effort, according to a regulatory filing by the firm last week. As part of the filing, the firm indicated a William Gordon -- potentially, and most likely, the former Chief Creative Officer of Electronic Arts and current venture capitalist at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers -- has joined the firm's board as part of the funding. No details on the firm have been disclosed, however, Dr. Shoham lists his projects in areas such as game theory, intelligent avatars, and artificial intelligence.
