Amazon Takes On Netflix With Streaming Service
Online retail giant Amazon.com has entered into the online video streaming market, taking on companies like Los Gatos-based Netflix with a new streaming service tied to its Amazon Prime service. Amazon said it would offer unlimited, commercial-free, instant streaming of 5,000 movies and TV shows as part of Amazon Prime, which provides free shipping on items ordered from the company for $79 a year.
