Alta Devices Pulls In $72M
Santa Clara-based Alta Devices, a firm developing technology which is says will improve the production economics of high efficiency solar photovoltaics, has raised $72M in funding. The funding came from August Capital, Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers, Crosslink Capital, DAG Ventures, New Enterprise Associates (NEA), Technology Partners, Sumitomo, Dow Chemical, Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo), Good Energies, and Energy Technology Ventures (the GE/ConocoPhilips/NRG Energy joint venture). AIMCo's Jagdeep Singh Bachher joins the firm's board as part of the funding.
