SeaMicro Launches Low Power Servers, With $20M More
Sunnyvale-based SeaMicro, the developer of low power, 64-bit x86 servers, has launched its latest hardware today, the SM10000-64HD. The firm--which recently inked $20M in funding--said the new server replaces 60 traditional servers, four top rack switches, terminal servers, and a load balancer in a single pckage, taking only one fourth the power and one sixth the space. SeaMicro is venture backed by Khosla Ventures, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, and Crosslink Capital. The $20M Series D round was raised last month, according to regulatory filings.
