San Mateo-based
myRete, the developer of the mobile social networking app,
WhosHere, said Wednesday that it has raised a first round of funding from Lightbank, the venture capital investment fund of Groupon co-founder Eric Lefkofsky and Brad Keywell. Financial details of the investment were not announced, however, a regulatory filing indicates the funding was worth $1.25M. WhosHere uses location to help users meet, and connects them via text, messaging, and VoIP calls.
