LinkedIn Buys IndexTank
Mountain View-based LinkedIn has acquired IndexTank, a developer of a online, search indexing service for websites. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. IndexTank said that LinkedIn will continue to operate its service for the next six months, and well open source the "key components" to provide a service compatible with the company's API. IndexTank was backed by K9 Ventures and others; the firm's corporate name is Flaptor, Inc.
