GainSpan Adds $18M In Funding
San Jose-based GainSpan, a developer of low power, wireless semiconductor chips, announced today that it has raised $18M in a Series C funding round. The round came from Hatteras Funds and Mobile Internet Capital, along with prior investors Opus Capital, In-Q-Tel, Intel Capital, New Venture Partners, Sigma Partners and Camp Ventures. The firm, which is led by Greg Winner, said the funding will go towards further development of its ultra-low power Wi-Fi chip.
