Cisco Invests In Indian Venture Capital Fund

said this morning that it is ramping its efforts to invest in the country of India, via a new investment in venture fund
Aavishkaar
. Cisco said it will invest in Cisco will invest in Aavishkaar India II Company Ltd., a new fund focused on promoting development in rural and semi-urban India. Size of the investment was not disclosed. Cisco said it has committed to spend up to $200M in venture capital in India. Aavishkarr II is a $120M fund. Cisco was prat of a $70M, first close of that fund, which also included IFC, KFW, FMO and CDC.
