Google Ventures, the venture arm of Mountain View-based
Google, has invested in a startup marketplace,
CustomMade which connects shoppers with artists who can custom make anything from jewelry, furniture, to guitars. According to CustomMade, it raised $4M in its round, which was co-led by Google Ventures and Schooner Capital, bringing its total raised to $8M. The firm's existing investors, Launch Capital, Nextview Ventures, Andrew McCollum and First Round Capital also participated. CustomMade is based in Massachusetts.
