Ask Ziggy Takes On Siri
A new startup,
Ask Ziggy
is looking to take on Apple's Siri with a new, Windows Phone, speech-regonition driven search engine, the firm said today. The firm said it has raised $5M in a funding round from a "publicly traded multinational corporation" for its efforts. Ask Ziggy--which is tapping speech recognition technology from Nuance--said it is developing a natural speech search engine which it says will make take the "merely amusing" speech recognition of Siri to a new "professional-grade" level. The firm has initially rolled out a Windows Phone app, with plans to expand to Android and Apple devices by Q3.
