Wanderful Media, a developer of software an products to help local news publishers to connect consumers with retail advertisers, has raised $5M in a funding, the company said today. Source of that funding was not disclosed, however, the company said it came from current investors. The firm said it has now raised a total of $27M for its product. Wanderful's software helps consumers discover merchandise and sales from local retailers, which it makes available via local newspaper publishing affiliates. The firm says it is backed by Advance Digital, A. H. Belo Corporation, Community Newspaper Holdings Inc., Cox Media Group, The E. W. Scripps Company, Gannett Co., Inc., GateHouse Media, Inc., Hearst Corporation, Lee Enterprises, MediaNews Group, The McClatchy Company, and The Washington Post Co.
