Bina Technologies Scores $6.5M For Gene Analysis Cloud
Redwood City-based Bina Technologies, which is a developer of an online, cloud-based platform used for genomics analysis, said this week that it has raised $6.5M in a Series B funding. The funding was led by Sierra Ventures. Bina said its cloud-based platform lets users analyze a whole human genome in hours, rather than days or weeks; the firm's technology is based on a combination of alignment software paired with a custom appliance to accelerate gene sequencing and analysis.
