Lifecode Raises $20.5M For Molecular Diagnostics

, a developer of gene sequencing-based molecular diagnostics products, said last week that it has raised $20.5M in a funding round. The funding was led by Sequoia Capital, the Mayo Clinic, and Mayo Ventures. Lifecode uses gene sequencing for analyzing cancer tumors. The company is led by Chris Rivest, and was--until January--known as Silicon Valley Biosystems (SV Bio). The company is initially focused on developing a gene-sequencing based cancer assay panels.
