Breakthrough Finds $5M
Redwood City-based Breakthrough announced this morning that it has raised $5M in a Series A funding, for its online counseling and psychiatry service. The funding came from Social+Capital Partnership, along with First Round Capital and Great Oaks Venture Capital. Breakthrough provides accces to licensed therapists via HD videoconferenceing on the Internet, and also handles booking of online appointments and other services. The company said it currently has deals with health plans such as Blue Shield of California and Magellan to cover its services via insurance.
