Calithera Biosciences Finds $35M
South San Francisco-based Calithera Biosciences, a developer of cancer therapeutics, has raised $35M in its Series D funding round, the company announced. The company said the funding was led by Adage Capital Partners, and also included Longwood Fund, two un-named institutional investor groups, plus existing investors Morgenthaler Ventures, Advanced Technology Ventures and Delphi Ventures also participated. Longwood Fund's Christoph Westphal has joined the company's board as part of the funding. The company said the funding will go towards advancing its lead candidate through Phase 1 clinical trials.
