D.light Sees $11M
San Francisco-based solar lighting products developer D.light said today that it has raised $11M in a Series C funding round. The new funding included Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Omidyar Network, Nexus India Capital, Gray Ghost Ventures, Acumen Fund and Garage Technology Ventures. D.Light says the new round brings its total raised to $40M. d.light's solar products are aimed at the developing world, providing reliable lighting to markets where electricity is at a premium. Mohanjit Jolly of DFJ, and Matt Bannick of Omidyar have joined the company's board with the new funding round.
