San Francisco-based Twitter has acquired Cover, a developer of Android lock screen applications, which make it easier for Android users to switch between different apps on their phone. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Cover said it would help to "create something even better" at Twitter. Cover said its app will remain available in the Play store, although its team will instead be developing apps for Twitter. Cover was based in Burlingame.
