Cloudera Buys Encryption Software Company Gazzang
Palo Alto-based Cloudera has acquired encryption software developer Gazzang, according to the two companies. Financial details of the acquisition deal were not announced. Gazzang develops software encryption tools for open source databases, and was venture backed by Austin Ventures and Silver Creek Ventures. Clouders is venture backed by Accel Partners, Google Ventures, Greylock Partners, Ignition Partners, In-Q-Tel, Intel Capital, Meritech Capital, MSD Capital LP, T. Rowe Price, as well as others.
