Wikia, the online community site created by Jimmy Wales, disclosed todaythat it has raised $15M in a venture funding round. The round was led by Digital Garage, and also included prior investors Bessemer Venture Partners, Amazon, and Institutional Venture Partners, along with Japanese investors Asuka Investments, Tose, Suneight, and Nobuyuki Idei. Wikia's online site lets users create and join topic- and interest-focused communities. The new funds go towards Asian expansion for the company.
