Sentient Technologies, which is looking to create "massively scaled" artificial intelligence technology, said this morning that it has raised $103.5M in a Series C funding round. The funding was led by Access Industries, and also included Tata Communications Limited, Horizons Ventures, and angels. Sentient says it runs multiple, distributed AI jobs across millions of processing nodes, which it says is "artifical intelligence on an unprecedented scale". The company said its customers are in the healthcare, medical research, fraud detection, public safety, e-commerce, and other areas.
