Bolt, a venture capital fund which focuses on connected hardware startups and gives its portfolio companies access to infrastructure such as its engineering/design staff, prototyping facilities, and manufacturing help, has set up an office in San Francisco, the fund said Tuesday. Bolt said it has set up a presence within the Autodesk Workshop on Pier 9, as part of the close of its second fund worth $25M. Those investments specifically go towards opening its facility in San Francisco, and more investments. Bolt says it invests up to $500K per startup, and focuses on seed stage companies at the intersection of hardware and software. LPs in the new fund are Autodesk, Logitech, Grishin Robotics, Cisco, as well as university endowments and fund-of-funds.
