Spruce Lands $15M For Telemedicine Efforts
San Francisco-based Spruce said Tuesday that it has raised $15M in a Series A financing round, to help connect patients with dermatologists, via the Internet and mobile apps. The funding was led by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, and also included Baseline Ventures, Cowboy Ventures, and Google Ventures. Spruce--which initially focused on acne treatment--said the funding will allow patients with such conditions as lines and wrinkles, skin discoloration, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, male hair loss, eyelash thinning, rashes, and bug bites and stings consult with board-certified dermatologists. The company is led by Ray Bradford.
