TrapX Finds $9M For Honeypots
San Mateo-based TrapX Security, which develops software to create "honeypots" to capture and analyze malware, has raised $9M in a Series B funding round. The funding was led by Intel Capital and Liberty Israel Venture Fund and also included BRM Group and Opus Capital. TrapX develops security technology which sits within an organization's network, and helps detect malware which has slipped past perimeter security efforts--also known in the industry as a "honeypot". TrapX is led by Greg Enriquez.
