AtHoc Acquired By BlackBerry
San Mateo-based AtHoc, a provider of mass communications and collaboration tools, has been acquired by BlackBerry Limited, the two announced last week. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. AtHoc's software helps people to communicate and exchange critical information and video during disasters and other incidents, with customers that include the U.S. Department of Defense and Homeland Security. AtHoc was venture backed by Greylock Partners and Intel Capital.
