Chain said Thursday that it has raised $30M in a funding round, which came from Visa, Nasdaq, Citi Ventures, Capital One, Fiserv and Orange. As part of the funding, Jim Robinson III, the former CEO of American Express and founder of RRE Ventures, has joined the company's board of directors. Chain says it is developing blockchain financial technology, and is working to create a Blockchain Working Group to explore the use of the technology in various markets. The technology is used as the underlying foundation of Bitcoin.
