Sunverge Energy Scores $36.5M For Energy Storage Systems
San Francisco-based Sunverge, a developer of energy storage systems for the electric utility industry, has raised $36.5M in a Series C funding, according to the company. The funding came from AGL Energy Ltd., along with the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA), SBCVC, Siemens Venture Capital and Total Energy Ventures International. Sunverge develops energy storage systems which helps utilities with automatic demand response. AGL CEO Andy Vesey and AGL General Manager of New Energy, Alistair Preston, join the company's board with the funding.
