Nauto Picks Up $12M
Palo Alto-based Nauto disclosed today that it has raised $12M in a Series A funding. The funding was led by Playground Global, and also included Draper Nexus and Index Ventures. Nauto was founded by Stefan Heck and Frederick Soo. Nauto's current technology--currently aimed at use by vehicle fleets--uses fixed, mounted camera systems, combined with GPS and other information, to improve and monitor driver performance, and the company is reportedly working on applying its technology to autonomous vehicles.
