SafeTraces Secures $1.5M For Food Safety
Pleasanton-based SafeTraces, which develops DNA-based food safety and tracking technology, has raised $1.5M in a seed funding round. The funding was led by Maumee Ventures, which is an arm of agribusiness company The Andersons, Inc. Safetraces is led by Anthony Zografos. SafeTraces says it develops invisible, edible, tasteless DNA barcodes which allow food producers to trace their products.
