PlushCare Raises $8M For Online Urgent Care Visits
San Francisco-based PlushCare, which is providing online "urgent care" services for patients, has raised $8M in a Series A funding round. The funding was led by GGV Capital, and also included Lightspeed Venture Partners and Exponent. Jeff Richards of GGV Capital joins the company's board with the funding. PLushCare says it provides same day, medical care from doctors via mobile and desktop devices. The company says a majority of cases at urgent care are treatable via telehealth. Ryan McQuaid is co-founder and CEO of the company.
