Redwood City- and San Diego-based online crowdfunding site
GoFundMe announced Tuesday afternoon that it has acquired Redding, California-based
YouCaring, another online crowdfunding site. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. YouCaring was founded in 2011, and was based in Redding, California. According to GoFundMe, it will transition new fundraisers on YouCaring to GoFundMe, while allowing existing fundraisers on Youcaring to continue to collect donations, with an opportunit to migrate to the GoFundMe platform. The companies said YouCaring was advised by SunTrust Robinson Humphrey in the deal. GoFundMe said the deal was signed on April 2nd, and is expected to close by the end of the week.
