Branch Gets $170M More For Finance App
San Francisco-based Branch, which develops a mobile finance app aimed at overseas, underbanked populations, has raised $170M in a Series C funding, the company said on Monday. The funding came from Visa. According to Branch, the new investment will help it expand financial access to people across the African continent, along with expansion in India and Latin America. The company offers up "virtual" prepaid debit cards to users. Branch is led by CEO and co-founder Matthew Flannery.
