Santa Clara-based NETGEAR, a provider of networking products, said yesterday that it has acquired SkipJam, a provider of integrated home entertainment software. Netgear said it paid $9M in cash for the firm, which is based in Port Chester, New York. Netgear will use SkipJam's technology for future multimedia products, including media centers, media players, and audio players. The acquisition is expected to close in the third quarter.
