Rackable Buys Terrascale
Milpitas-based Rackable Systems has agreed to buy Terrascale Technologies, a provider of clustered file systems for the high performance computing market. The deal is worth $38M. Rackable said it will acquire Terrascale in an all-cash deal. Rackable is a developer of servers and storage for data centers. Terrascale's products are targeted at the Linux high-performance-computing (HPC) market. Thomas Weisel Partners was the advisor to Rackable on the transaction.
