Rackable Buys SGI Out Of Bankruptcy

announced this morning that it is acquiring
Silicon Graphics, Inc.
in a deal worth approximately $25M in cash. According to Rackable, the combined firm will provide customers with hardware and software for the large-scale x86 cluster computing, HPC, Internet, Cloud Computing, large-scale data storage environments and visualization areas. Rackable said the asset purchase came as an Asset Purchase Agreement, as part of the Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing made today by SGI.
