Lucent Buys Mobilitec
Lucent Technologies said this morning that it is acquiring San Mateo-based Mobilitec. Mobilitec provides content management software for wireless service providers. Financial terms for the cash deal were not disclosed, and Lucent said that transaction is not material to the firm. Lucent said it intends to integrate Mobilitec's software into its application produces for personalized context-aware content delivery and targeted advertising. Mobilitec has 70 employees worldwide.
