LGC Wireless Acquires Alvarion Cell Unit
San Jose-based LGC Wireless, a provider of in-building wireless systems, has acquired the assets of the Cellular Mobile Unit from Alvarion Ltd. The deal was worth $15M in notes payable. Alvarion's Cellular Mobile Unit develops base station and core wireless network equipment to wireless operators and system integrators. LGC said the acquisition will give it technology to develop turnkey capacity and coverage for carriers. The asset deal includes technology, patents, manufacturing rights, inventory, equipment and receivables.
