MIPS Sues Trident Microsystems
Mountain View-based MIPS Technologies said today that it has filed a patent and trademark infringement lawsuit against Sunnyvale-based Trident Microsystems. MIPS said that after failure of business discussions, the suit was filed on December 1st in the United States District Court, Northern District of California. According to the firm's legal filings, MIPS is looking for a permanent injunction from marketing or selling Trident's HiDTV line of products, along with compensatory damages.
