Fremont, California-based Solaria, a company developing solar modules, said today that it has raised $50M in a Series C round. the funding came from Q-Cells AG, a manufacturer of solar cells, and also included Sigma Partners, NGEN, and Moser Baer. Solaria said that the funding deal comes along with a solar cell supply agreement which will give it access to 1.35 GW in cells over the next ten years. Solaria is developing solar modules based on optical concentrators.
