BluBet Launches Social Betting Website, Gets Funding
San Francisco-based BluBet said Wednesday that it has launched a public beta of its web site for betting on predictions, and has received backing from Jawed Karim of YouTube, Kevin Hartz of Xoom, Joe Greenstein of Flixter, and Keith Rabois of Slide. Terms of the funding were not announced. BluBet is developing a Web 2.0-style site that allows people to bet virtual currency on any topic or event, including sporst, entertainment, finance, or other events.
