Semiconductor Fabs Merge
San Jose-based SVTC Technologies, a development foundry and spin-off from Cypress Semiconductor, and Texas-based ATDF, the research and development foundry for semiconductor consortium SEMATECH, announced today that they have merged. Details of the transaction were not disclosed. Cypress spun out SVTC in a $53M, private equity deal backed by Oak Hill Capital Partners and Tallwood Venture Capital in January.
