Emergence Capital, Salesforce.com Create Venture Competition
San Francisco-based Salesforce.com and venture capital firm Emergence Capital Partners said today that the two have partnered to create a new venture competition targeted at entrepreneurs using Salesforce's Force.com platform. According to the two, they will give an entrepreneur or company developing a service on the Force.com the opportunity to receive a $1 million investment from Emergence Capital. They will also provide a year's worth of space in Salesforce.com's AppExchange Incubator facility. Force.com is Salesforce.com's online platform for developing and distribution online, sofware-as-a-service applications.
