Atmel Completes Quantum Research Group Buy
San Jose-based Atmel Corporation said this morning that it has completed its acquisition of Quantum Research Group Ltd., after receiving all necessary regulatory approvals for the acquisition. Quantum is a developer of technology for touch sensing in microcontrollers. Quantum is based in Hamble, England. The deal to acquire Quantum Research was worth $88M, and was originally announced at the beginning of February. Quantum Research's products are used for touchpads in mobile phones, media players, and other electronic products.
