Burlingame, Calif.-based mig33, a social-networking service for mobile customers, reported Monday that it has appointed Richard Yanowitch to its board of directors. Yanowitch, who joins the board as an independent director, is currently the chief executive officer of The Entrepreneurs Group. He is also a former venture partner at Accel Partners. mig33 described Yanowitch as a Silicon Valley leader with a proven track record of transforming early stage companies into high-growth enterprises. He recently served as vice chairman of the NDS Group and a senior consultant to News Corp., reporting to chairman and CEO Rupert Murdoch. Yanowitch has also worked for VeriSign, Sybase, SCO, Digital Equipment Corp. and Lanier Harris. Mig33 is venture backed by DCM, Accel, Redpoint, and TVP.
