Mountain View-based NextHop Technologies, a provider of 802.11 software, has been acquired by UK-based U4EA Technologies, U4EA said today. According to the firm, NextHop Technologies will operate as U4EA Wireless. NextHop's software includes 802.11a/b/g/n access point software for the Wi=Fi market. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. The new unit will be headed by PG Memom, who will be VP and General Manager of the U4EA Wireless. NextHop was venture backed by Duchossois Technology Ventures, Labrador Ventures, New Enterprise Associates, and Parker Price.
