FunnyOrDie Gets HBO Investment
FunnyOrDie, the Palo Alto-based Internet video startup headed by comedian Will Ferrell, has reportedly received an investment from HBO, according to industry publication Variety. Variety did not disclose terms of the investment, but said that the deal is expected to give HBO less than 10 percent of FunnyOrDie. FunnyOrDie has previously received backing from Sequoia Capital and DAG Ventures. The online comedy video site also runs a number of other vertical websites, including ShredOrDie.com with Tony Hawk.
