Aptana Buys Pydev
San Mateo-based Aptana, a developer of web infrastructure and application management tools, said this morning that it has acquired Pydev, a developer of an integrated development environment for the Python software language. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Pydev's IDE is based on the open source Eclipse IDE software. Aptana is a developer of its own integrated development environments for JavaScript, Ruby on Rails, and PHP, with a focus on enabling AJAX web applications. Aptana is backed by Accel Partners.
